Beach? Yes please! Makeup? Of course!
As a makeup lover, wearing makeup even on the beach makes me feel comfortable, feminine and cute!
I don’t wear tons of makeup for my beach trips, instead I try to keep it simple but still enhance my features that make me feel confident and cute. I just love doing my makeup, so this is also fun.
The thing is, with sweat, sun, water and sand, the makeup for the beach Is a special type of makeup that requires special products to make it both, lightweight and durable for this conditions.

Step 1. Skincare. Always
As any other makeup, the first step is your skincare routine.
The only thing I would add for a beach day is to avoid exfoliants that day and the day before the beach trip because exposure to sun is to harsh for the skin after an exfoliantion.
After your regular serums and moisturizer, a must is SUNSCREEN. and reapply every 2 hours.
Step 2. Spot concealing
Because we are trying to keep it as simple as possible, spot concealing would be our friend.
Spot concealing consists of applying a concealer in a similar shade of your skin tone in areas you want to cover, for example, blemishes, pimples, dark spots, and under eyes.
That way we target those specific areas and use less foundation or a sheer foundation without missing our target points to cover and without using too many layers or quantity of foundation.
Step 3. Foundation (but this is optional)
After spot concealing I would avoid foundation, but if you have a sheer foundation with satin finish or with a lightweight consistency that you like, you can now apply your foundation.
Try to keep it as minimal as possible since we want to look natural, fresh for that beach look.
Step 4. Eyes
If you are wearing lash extensions, you can avoid this step, if you like, you can wear false eyelashes, just keep in mind two things:
For the beach, a pair of false eyelashes that look natural and enhance your natural lashes is recommended
AND
you’ll need to avoid the water since the regular lashes glue is usually water resistant but for things like sweat or tears, not for oceans lol.
If you opt for natural lashes, curl your lashes and add 1-2 coats of a waterproof mascara.
Waterproof mascara is a must, make sure you read your mascara package and find the word waterproof before using it for the beach, nonwaterproof mascara will make your eyes look like a panda after the first splash!
Step 5. Blush (and lips!)
I like to combine this steps because for the beach, my favorite thing to do with my blush is wearing a blush tint that I also apply to my lips.
That and some gloss or lip balm to add more juiciness to my lips.
step 6. Eyebrows (optional)
if you like me, can’t live without doing your eyebrows, you can do your eyebrows to go to the beach but remember to use waterproof products to avoid smearing with the sweat and water.
a waterproof gel eyeliner would do the work just fine.
Things to avoid in a beach makeup:
- eyeliner
- eyeshadows
- red lipstick
- any matte lipstick
- heavy foundations
- dramatic eyelashes
