So for this halloween season, I decided to transformed myself into Selena Quintanilla.
This is something that has been in my mind like for years now, and every season I pick a different costume. But this year is my time, I have my outfit, a fake microphone, and even a wig in case my hair doesn’t cooperate with the look.
In this post, we are gonna explore Selena Quintanilla makeup look and fashion, and what I used to look as much as like her as possible to rock in this Halloween party season!

In the 90s it was common to see famous people wearing this type of makeup which constis on:
- Full coverage face foundation
- full coverage powder
- bright concealer under eyes
- bright eyeshadows as a base, (like white, bright beige)
- dark eyebrows
- red lips
- subtle to no blush at all and if applied, in warm shades (you don’t see pink blush)
- eyeliner on the bottom and upper lash line
- eyelashes or mascara

There are several outfits that Selena Quintanilla wore, and she made a statement with each and every one of them, but the one I want to try this time is the purple one she wore at the Astrodome concert in Texas.

Selena’s hair was black, naturally beautiful and like the trends in that decade, it was a little messy and with volume!
She wore curtain bangs, and I found this black wig. I ended up using my natural hair because I already have neck pain with the weight of my natural hair, I can’t wear wigs for so long, because it get my pain worse!
How to achieve the Selena Quintanilla Look
- Bold Red Lipstick – Selena was known for her signature red lips. Choose a classic matte red lipstick to recreate her bold, glamorous pout.
- Soft Smokey Eye – Selena kept her eyes subtle yet sultry. Use neutral browns and soft blacks to create a smokey eye, focusing on blending and keeping it soft.

- Bottom and upper black eyeliner
